This dynamic course gives students aged 15+ the chance to delve into King Lear to analyse Shakespeare’s use of language and stagecraft, in Shakespeare’s original performance space.
A great ruler descends into madness after misjudging the loyalty of those around him, falling into the traps laid by power, wealth, and old age. Explore some of Shakespeare’s most devastating tragedies in the unique surroundings of the Globe Theatre.
Designed for students studying Shakespeare or English Literature, bringing it to life through active discussion and practical drama activities.
Encouraging the development of an informed personal response to the play, underpinned by understanding the text’s relationship to the unique performance conditions of the Globe, this course is particularly suitable for GCSE and A-level Literature students.
Workshops will be led by one of the Globe’s highly experienced practitioners who include actors, teachers and directors.
