Twelfth Night

When a shipwreck tears a family apart, twins Sebastian and Viola seek refuge in a new land. Filled with unforgettable characters, Twelfth Night combines cruelty with high comedy and the pangs of unrequited love with subtle poetry, expressed through some of Shakespeare’s most exquisite songs.
Shakespeare’s Globe’s Touring Ensemble present a trio of plays exploring the themes of refuge and displacement, performed as a touring production would have been staged in the 17th century, with a stripped back set and a small, versatile troupe of actors.
Taking on multiple roles across all three plays, our talented international cast will unravel these timeless tales of those who have crossed seas and lost their families, are seeking new homes, and finding out what belonging truly means to them.
The Touring Ensemble will be performing The Comedy of Errors, Pericles and Twelfth Night in the Globe Theatre at various points throughout the summer – including during Refugee Week – and for five performances only will also give the audience the chance to vote for which of the three plays they want to see in our exhilarating Audience Choice performances.
