Shakespeare’s Globe and Dance Umbrella invite you to join a distinguished panel of experts – Polly Bennett, Yukiko Masui and Shelley Maxwell, for a discussion about the growing demand for the role of movement director in theatre, chaired by Globe CEO Stella Kanu, as part of The Globe Talks series.

The panellists will delve into conversations around how movement direction differs from the role of the choreographer, demystifying the process. We’ll talk about how movement direction has evolved in recent years and how it is more in demand than ever. We will also explore how roles for movement directors have developed on film, television and commercial projects, and what the future of choreography and movement direction might look like. This event is part of The Globe Talks, a series of essential conversations exploring the work we do in relation to the world we live in.

This event is also part of the Dance Umbrella Festival 2024.

Dance Umbrella is London’s international dance festival, taking place every October across the capital and online.

This event will be live streamed and BSL interpreted.
