This workshop is an engaging way to enhance studies of Shakespeare and theatre, or a brilliant opportunity for aspiring young actors and Shakespeare enthusiasts to tread the boards. No previous experience is required, just a desire to jump in and enjoy.
About the play
A violent fight breaks out between their rival families, setting the stage for Romeo and Juliet’s first meeting. Despite the feuding and the fact that Juliet is already promised to marry someone else, they fall in love. However, their hopes for happiness are shattered by more fighting between their families. While the adults are distracted by their own concerns, a secret and heart-breaking tragedy begins to take shape among the younger generation…
Tickets must be purchased by over 18s, but this workshop is designed for young people aged 14–16 attending independently. Parents and guardians must be present for drop-off and pick up of their young person and can enjoy the Globe’s food and drinks offer during the workshop.
Please note that the May workshops will take place in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.
