Macbeth: On stage Workshop (12-14 years)
Bring Shakespeare’s Macbeth to life in this practical and interactive workshop on one of our unique stages. Designed for ages 12–14.
Ideal for young people with an interest in drama or literature, this workshop uses a range of activities and games designed to draw out elements of the play’s language, characters and themes through practical drama activities.
This workshop encourages a personal response to the play, informed by understanding the play’s relationship to the unique performance conditions of the Globe, providing the perfect head start or accompaniment to GCSE English Literature studies. No previous experience is required, just a desire to jump in and enjoy exploring one of his most famous tales.
Workshops will be led by one of the Globe’s highly experienced educational practitioners who include actors, teachers and directors.
About the play
From its fascinating first moments to the final fulfilment of the witches’ prophecy, Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s darkest and most powerful tragedies – a gripping account of one man’s determination to secure his ambition and destiny, the crown of Scotland, by whatever means necessary…
Tickets must be purchased by over 18s, but this workshop is designed for young people aged 12–14 attending independently.
Parents and guardians can enjoy the Globe’s food and drinks offer during the workshop. Please note that the February workshops will take place in the Globe Theatre and the May workshops will take place in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.
