Price: £45.00 Book Now

Learn new skills to build an anti-racist approach to teaching Shakespeare in the classroom in this practical Continuing Professional Development workshop, designed for Secondary English and Drama teachers.

You’ll examine a selection of extracts through the lens of anti-racism and look at how we can identify parallel occurrences in contemporary society. Led by an experienced Education Practitioner, this session will give you the opportunity to discuss techniques with other teachers and will equip you with a practical toolkit for working with your students.

Your experience includes:

  • A 30 minute tour of the Globe Theatre
  • A two hour workshop with an expert practitioner
  • A take-away session plan to help you embed your learning in the classroom

Shakespeare’s Globe is committed to understanding historic bias and racism within our organisation and bringing about lasting change. As part of this conversation our programme includes regular CPDs for teachers and our series of Anti-Racist Shakespeare webinars.

Who are our Globe Education Practitioners?
Our expert Globe Education Practitioners leading your CPD are specialists in teaching Shakespeare in performance. They are actors, directors, and workshop leaders, with specific experience of engaging young people in Shakespeare.
