An aging emcee diagnosed with early onset dementia wants to reconnect with his estranged children before his memory slips away for good. Reuniting to sort out their father’s inheritance, the siblings connect with storytellers who hold pieces of the puzzle that is their father’s life and legacy. Inspired by the works and words of Shakespeare, Our Verse in Time to Come bridges the past with the present, interrogates whose stories remain, and whose role it is to ensure they survive.
Experience this sneak preview of a new play and exhibition being developed by the Folger Theatre, part of the internationally-acclaimed Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington DC. This unique collaboration between Shakespeare’s Globe and the Folger will offer an unmissable performance inspired by community and memory, as part of the 400th Anniversary of the First Folio.
This exciting opportunity is brought to audiences exclusively as part of Shakespeare and Race Festival 2022, by Greg Prickman, director of Collections, co-writers Malik Work and the Folger’s new artistic director Karen Ann Daniels, director Devin Haqq, and Globe actors.
