VOLUNTEERS

Our volunteer community is expanding!

It takes hundreds of hard-working, talented and passionate people to keep the doors of Shakespeare’s Globe open and without our community of Volunteer Stewards, this magical place could not exist. Our wonderful volunteers act as the public face of Shakespeare’s Globe and ensure that our patrons have an enjoyable experience where they feel safe and supported.

We are currently looking for new volunteer stewards to join us for the opening of our 2025 Summer Season in April 2025 and beyond. All volunteers will also have the opportunity to steward the beautiful Sam Wanamaker Playhouse during the Winter Season from November 2025.

Volunteers must be 18 or over.

We reimburse travel expenses (up to £21.50) for all volunteers and provide a meal for those stewarding a double shift (matinees followed by evening events).

This is an excellent opportunity for people who care about creating a brilliant customer experience and want to support Shakespeare’s Globe. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

If you would like to apply for the role, please read our Volunteer role description and complete our online application form along with our equal opportunities form by 5pm on Monday 13th January 2025. Q&A sessions will take place in January 2025 and Induction & Training sessions will take place throughout February – April 2025.

If you need any help with your application, have any queries about this form or the role or require a large type version of this form, please email us at [email protected] or call 020 7902 1531.

We regret that we are unable to offer a volunteering placement to everyone who applies.

Volunteer role description

“The best advice I can give to someone interested in volunteering is to give it a try! We are a friendly bunch so I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do. Please don’t think you need to be highly educated in the arts or in Shakespeare’s works. I am neither of these things. I just really enjoy the opportunity to be involved in theatre & making sure visitors have a wonderful time”
