A new year, a new school term, and new Shakespeare plays to conquer.
To help teachers, parents and students with the challenges of teaching during the pandemic, either at school, via a virtual classroom or at home, we’re thrilled to make our 2021 Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream available to watch, for free, to schools around the world.
One of the most impactful and longest running cultural education projects in the UK, Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank is our flagship project for secondary and post-16 further education students. Supported by Deutsche Bank as part of Born To Be, their global youth engagement programme which aims to help young people prepare for the future and unlock their potential, Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank sees Shakespeare’s plays adapted in to fast-paced productions with young people in mind.
We know how vital it is for students to have free access to filmed staged productions to support their understanding of Shakespeare. One of the most popular texts for study, our 2021 A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a full-scale, fast-paced performance in the Globe Theatre, and is the perfect introduction to Shakespeare and his works.
How do I watch A Midsummer Night’s Dream?
Schools across the UK and the world can get their free access to the A Midsummer Night’s Dream film. You’ll need to register to access the film, and once you’ve completed the form, you’ll be sent a confirmation email with details on how to watch.
The form can also be shared with other teachers and colleagues so they can also register for access for their students.

Our Education work goes beyond just performances. Our Lively Action Workshops are fun, practical sessions exploring a Shakespeare play of your choice, and can be delivered at the Globe, in your school or online.
Teachers can also continue their professional development in 2022 with our range of CPDs covering Shakespeare’s plays, contexts, race, gender, and more, allowing you to delve deeper into his world.
Furthermore, we have a host of award-winning resources supporting GCSE and A-Level curricula. Explore key themes, characters, language, blogs and more to unlock a greater understanding of some of Shakespeare’s most studied plays.
