Hello world, we’re coming to you live from Shakespeare’s Globe!
Experience the magic of our wooden ‘O’ from the comfort of your very own home as we live stream four of our Summer 2021 productions over the next couple of months.
From June – October, you’ll be able to see A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo & Juliet, Twelfth Night, and Metamorphoses from Shakespeare’s most famous stage.
We know that in the current climate and with travel restrictions still in place, many of you will be unable to visit us summer. That’s why with our live streams we are still able to bring our work to everyone, no matter where you are in the world.
How do I purchase a ticket to the live streams?
Each of the four productions will be live streamed twice (with Metamorphoses streamed four times) on our website throughout the summer. You will need to purchase a ticket to access the live streams. Ticket prices start at just £5 per household with an option to donate on top.
How do I watch the live streams?
Once you’ve booked a ticket via our website, you’ll receive a confirmation email of your order. Keep this handy in case you need to reference it later!
24 hours before the live stream is due to begin, you’ll be sent an email with a link to access the stream. This stream will also be available via the digital events page once you log in to your account.
The live stream will be available on the Watch page 30 minutes before the performance is due to begin. If you log in to your account before this time, you will need to refresh the page to access the stream.
You may be placed in a short virtual queue before logging in, so please join at least 15 minutes before the start time to ensure you don’t miss the beginning of the show! As this is a live broadcast, you will not be able to restart, rewind, pause or watch the stream on demand later.
Are the live streams accessible?
Should you benefit from the use of captions or audio description, there will be versions of the live stream that offer these on the Watch page. Captions / subtitles will be available in English only. Once the stream is available, you’ll be able to select your preferred version and press play to access the stream.
Top tips ahead of watching the live stream
The live stream will be available through our website, on any browser, anywhere in the world. Please make sure you have a good, stable internet connection.
To watch on a TV, you’ll need to connect your laptop, desktop or mobile device to your TV with the appropriate cable or adaptor. Alternatively, if you have a casting device such as Chromecast or Apple TV, you can cast directly from your device. Please consult the support section of your chosen casting device for further details.

Romeo & Juliet will be live streamed on Saturday 10 July and Saturday 7 August, 7.00pm (BST).
Twelfth Night will be live streamed on Saturday 4 September and Saturday 23 October, 7.00pm (BST).
Metamorphoses will be live streamed on Wednesday 27, Thursday 28 and Friday 29 October, 7.30pm, and Saturday 30 October, 2.30pm (BST).
