Reinhard Gorenflos

Reinhard is a philanthropist with a focus on education and literature, and a businessman and investor.

He is Founder and CEO of Tua Res Foundation, a charity which promotes the education of vulnerable girls in Western Africa and has already supported more than 25,000 girls since 2012. He was a Chairman of AppsForGood, an NGO with a focus on Tech Education, and is a member of the Dean’s Council of Harvard‘s Kennedy School of Government. Reinhard participated as jury member in the Heinrich Heine Award, a leading German literature Award, and is currently a board member of the Stiftung Lyrik–Kabinett (Poetry Foundation). He co-initiated the exhibition and theatre event ‘Will’s Book’ in Marbach, Germany, a joint project of Shakespeare’s Globe and Deutsches Literaturarchiv (DLA) celebrating 400 years of Shakespeare’s First Folio. Reinhard is Chairman of SEFE GmbH, a leading European energy supplier, owned by the German government, and is the Founding Investor of DataGuard, a data protection and information security enterprise. Reinhard was previously a long-term partner at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR), London, a private equity firm, and was CFO of ARAL AG, Germany. He holds a master’s degree in economics (Dipl.-Volkswirt) from Freiburg University and an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
