Dr Jennifer Edwards is Assistant Professor in English at the University of Warwick, where she researches and teaches Shakespeare and early modern literature.

Her work explores emotions and embodiment, and she has recently published a minigraph on distraction, attention, and affect at Shakespeare’s Globe (This Distracted Globe: Attending to Distraction in Shakespeare’s Theatre, CUP, 2023).

She is currently completing a book on ecstatic experience in the work of Shakespeare and his contemporaries, and working on a research project on altered states of consciousness more broadly.
