James is a composer and producer who works as Head of Music at Shakespeare’s Globe, where he has composed for several productions, including Much Ado About Nothing (2017), Hamlet (2018), As You Like It (2019), Fir Tree (2021).

Other credits include A Very Dark Matter at The Bridge Theatre, and Arrival, an immersive community theatre project in 2021.

He released his debut solo album, Gaslight, with Canada’s Moderna Records in Summer 2017, and is due to release his second with the same label next year. He is originally from Birmingham, and studied music at Oxford University, where he graduated in 2011.
